Toasted on the outside, creamy on the inside, this is chef Hugo Candeias's cheesecake that surprised everyone and everyone in 2020, becoming a brand, two years later.

Dona by Hugo Candeias
He saw the light of day during the pandemic, at which time Hugo Candeias, having just arrived for many years working in Spain, applied his skills in making a cheesecake known as Basque - despite not having its origin there -, and which became popular from San Sebastián-Donostia to the world. Well toasted in a fine caramelized crust, but surprisingly creamy on the inside, the recipe won a loyal clientele during its first year as the dessert of choice at the Office. In 2022, Dona by Hugo Candeias was born, inspired by the Basque name Donostia, to allow orders of whole pies, which could be consumed by beggars in their own homes, through the Volup app, or with order takeaway at collection points.
