
Portuguese in content, Iberian in form. Canalha brings back to Lisbon the essence of a local restaurant with the signature of chef João Rodrigues.


Canalha
Canalha opened in 2023 to be a neighborhood restaurant, and quickly became a Lisbon institution. With cuisine led by chef João Rodrigues, with resident chef Lívia Orofino, Canalha came to bring to Lisbon an irreverent, but comfortable space, without concepts or revivalisms. The space stands out for the relationship between the visible kitchen, the counter and the living room. Every day, the fresh products from the showcase are handwritten in the ardosia. The cuisine is emotionally Portuguese, but openly Iberian, favoring, however, the national product. The success of the first months of Canalha, located next to Maat, led to a summer partnership with Sublime Comporta, adding an extra address to the project during the summer months.
